Kang Rixin, former general manager of the China National Nuclear Corporation
(CNNC), has been expelled from his position and his membership of the Communist
Party of China (CPC), announced Xinhua News Agency on January 15.
A native of northern China's Shanxi Province, Kang took a degree in nuclear reactor engineering and then joined the China Institute of Atomic Energy. In 1996, he assumed a position in CNNC and seven years later, was promoted to party secretary and general manager of China's leading nuclear power plant developer. The nation's top graft buster confirmed last August that he was under investigation. Kang himself was an elected member of the party's central disciplinary committee in 2008.
