The Wahaha-Danone Saga

Thirsting for a part of China's booming beverage market in 1996, French food giant Danone Groupe entered into a joint venture agreement with China's largest beverage producer Hangzhou Wahaha group. Thus began a partnership that would later end in what would become one of the most high-profile foreign investment disputes in China. But instead of drinking from the chalice of victory, many said Danone got the cup of wrath.
