【Caixin Summit】Analysts: Green Policies a Tough Sell in China
The dominant role of the manufacturing sector in the economy and poor enforcement of environmental laws stand as major obstacles analysts said at the forum in Beijing
(Beijing) – As one of the world's largest carbon dioxide emitters, Chinese companies must begin to place an emphasis on energy conservation and environmental protection, despite several barriers ahead, analysts at the Caixin Summit said November 12.
Li Shan, chairman and CEO of Chinastone Capital Management Ltd., said it will be difficult for the Chinese government to implement environmental policies as long as the manufacturing sector continues to dominate the Chinese economy.
