Quake Hits Sichuan

China's southwestern province of Sichuan was rocked by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake. Thousands are believed to be injured and at least 76 people were killed. The earthquake hit Lushan county in Ya'an city at 8:02 am on April 20. China earthquake administration estimates the magnitude was 7.0 while U.S. Geological Survey says the magnitude was 6.6. Local officials estimate several thousand people may be killed or injured. The center of the earthquake was close to the center of the 2008 Wenchuan earthquake, which killed more than 80,000 people.
