PBOC's Move to Reform Bond Market Gains Ground

Amidst an ongoing crackdown on interbank bond market, the central bank has circulated proposals for big changes to bond trading standards

(Beijing) – The central bank is mulling broad changes to the interbank bond market in the wake of scandals that have led to the arrest of several executives working for large financial institutions.

It has temporarily halted since April 25 the opening of new Class C accounts, which have been extensively abused and are the focus of recent investigations, by all but four types of financial entities. The exceptions are enterprise annuities, mutual funds, social security funds and insurance products.
